At least 33 Taliban insurgents killed in military operations over the past 24 hours

At least 33 Taliban insurgents have been killed and half a dozen injured in various military operations conducted by Afghan security forces over the past 24 hours, according to a statement issued by Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoIA).
 
The operations, the statement said, were conducted jointly by Afghan National Army (ANA), Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS).
 
The operations were conducted in Zabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Maidan Wardak, Uruzgan, Khost, Jawzjan, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Ghazni, Balkh, Laghman and Paktika provinces.
 
A large quantity of arms and ammunition were also seized during these operations, the statement said.
 
The Afghan forces also recovered a number of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) that were planted by armed insurgents in Paktika, Khost, Ghazni and Laghman provinces.
 
There has been no comment from the Taliban on these operations so far.
