Afghanistan U-19 cricket team returned home on Saturday after participating in the ACC U-19 Premier League in Malaysia and successfully defending their title.

The senior officials of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), including chief executive officer (CEO) Shafiqullah Stanikzai, were present at the airport to receive the victorious team.
Defending champions Afghanistan played and won all their five matches to retain the title. They won the tournament last year also in Kuwait.
The team looked virtually invincible as they convincingly routed all the participating teams in the tournament, finishing with 10 points.
The tournament was played between August 28 and September 3. Afghanistan played and won consecutive teams against Kuwait, Nepal, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

The team played their final match of the tournament against hosts Malaysia on Thursday and won it comfortably by three wickets.
In a statement issued by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Chairman Nasimullah Danish and CEO Shafiqullah Stanikzai congratulated the team on defending the title.
“It shows that Afghanistan has great cricket talent and the future of cricket is bright in Afghanistan,” said Mr. Danish.
Hazratullah Zazai, who scored 314 runs in five matches at the monumental average of 157.00, was adjudged man of the tournament.
