In many provinces across Afghanistan, roads are lying in dilapidated condition. The landmine explosions carried out by armed opposition groups have damaged these roads, making vehicular movement difficult. Due to the fear instilled by armed insurgents, the local people have never asked concerned government agencies to repair these roads.
Although many roads have been repaired in various provinces over the past 13 years, there are still hundreds of villages and towns where roads lie intatters, because of landmines.
However, according to fresh reports, Taliban operatives in eastern Logar province have asked the local people to approach concerned government authorities to get the roads repaired in Charkh district of the province.
